South Waikato YMCA

Welcome to the YMCA South Waikato the Heart of New Zealand
A quick oversight of our YMCA:

  • We have been operating in Tokoroa since 1963
  • Our first premises were in Papanui Street
  • The stadium burnt down on October 1973
  • For the next 10 years we operated from the buildings where the old Countdown was and the Army Hall in Bridge Street.
  • Our new stadium was opened in 1983 and we are still operating from Princess Beatrix Ave site.
